Worth A Drive
Back 40 is a favorite dining destination in Heber that provides great food, drinks, and even better views. Everything is locally sourced (like really, really locally) and even their water tastes incredible as it comes from their own well that is over 200 ft. deep, sourced from an artesian aquifer. Their fried chicken is delicious and you can order it as a family to-go meal and it’s always a crowdpleaser. They also have a yurt in the winter. Always an ah-mazing experience at Back 40!
Café Galleria is a laid-back hangout that fires pizzas and bagels in a wood-burning oven. The real draw is in the winter when you can get cozy in their private Alpenglobes with panoramic views of all four seasons. They are heated and even have a speaker where you can play your own music. Available daily by reservation, they have seating and table service for up to eight. They make it a memorable meal!

From hearth to table. The Chef says, “We hope to keep you well-fed with fabulous food, and well-supplied with good humor. Come and gather around our hearth.” Well, don’t mind if we do! I recommend getting something with bread as they use Hawk and Sparrow—SO GOOD. And speaking of bread, it’s a great gluten free spot as well. Shrimp and Grits is a standout!
Will drive for doughnuts! While Mirror Lake Station is technically a Kamas gas station, that doesn’t stop them from baking “Utah’s Best Donut.” They have been a favorite for 40 years and people drive up from all over for them. Bakers make all of the doughnuts from scratch in a bakery behind the station. Get there early and try a fritter—they’re as big as your head!
Will drive to Midway for GOOD pizza! The Pizza Yard is heating up in Midway — it’s a 120-year-old house turned into a pizza dream! The pizzas are seasonally inspired with lots of local ingredients. This is just such a charming and delicious family spot and in the warmer weather they have a cute outdoor area. You can order online for local delivery and for pickup.
